Site Engineers (Mechanical & Electrical)

Our client, a leading Mechanical, Electrical, and Piping (MEP) engineering firm, is expanding its project delivery capacity across active construction sites in Abuja. As part of its growth strategy, the company is strengthening its site supervision capabilities to ensure timely execution, strict adherence to technical specifications, and seamless coordination across multidisciplinary construction teams.

The Role

Our client is seeking experienced Site Engineers (Mechanical & Electrical) to oversee and coordinate on-site MEP execution activities within active construction environments.

The successful candidates will be responsible for supervising installations in line with approved drawings, project schedules, quality benchmarks, and safety standards. The roles require strong technical expertise, proactive coordination with project managers and QA/QC teams, and hands-on site leadership to ensure efficient and compliant project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and execute MEP site works including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, power distribution, lighting, and ELV systems in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly site activities in collaboration with the Project Manager, ensuring effective allocation of manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Interpret and review MEP drawings, technical specifications, and schedules, identifying discrepancies and ensuring only the latest approved drawings are implemented.
• Coordinate inspections and testing activities with QA/QC teams to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Monitor material requests, deliveries, and storage to ensure alignment with approved submittals and project timelines.
• Supervise subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and company standards.
• Support testing and commissioning processes, including pressure testing, energization, system flushing, and functional verification.
• Prepare and maintain daily site logs, progress reports, inspection records, and technical documentation.
• Track project milestones, highlight risks or delays, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
• Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies, toolbox talks, permit systems, and risk assessment procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3–6 years’ experience in site-based MEP construction projects.
• Proven experience supervising mechanical or electrical installations across commercial, residential, or industrial developments.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction practices, installation standards, and site coordination procedures.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Project is highly desirable.
• Candidates with backgrounds from VACC, ETCO, and Lambart, or professionals with strong hands-on MEP construction experience, are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors, coordinate inspections, and drive compliance with project specifications.
