Our client, a leading Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering firm, is expanding its project management capacity to support the delivery of complex engineering projects across multiple locations. The Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of simple to complex Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role requires strong leadership, structured project governance, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and client relationships effectively.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring operational discipline, managing risks, overseeing cost performance, and providing strategic oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, detailed schedules, and cost budgets aligned with organizational objectives.
- Coordinate effectively with clients, architects, consultants, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor project progress, manage issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain timelines and performance standards.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to Project Engineers and site teams.
- Attend project meetings and issue meeting reports within approved service-level timelines.
- Make informed decisions on project matters on behalf of management when required.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, variations, and change orders to protect financial performance.
- Review and critique proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, and technical details to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Present monthly project performance reports to management and participate in executive management meetings.
- Identify and assess potential risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards through inspections, audits, and compliance monitoring.
- Monitor project costs and proactively identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing concerns promptly and ensuring overall satisfaction.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate project teams to achieve delivery excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- NSE/COREN registration is required.
- PMP certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 10–15 years of relevant site and project management experience.
- Proven experience managing MEP projects from inception through completion.
- Strong working knowledge of CAD tools and engineering documentation systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Willingness to travel for meetings, site visits, and inspections.
- Flexibility to work extended or adjusted schedules when project demands require.
